THE ONLY SOURCE OF HELP

Meditate on Psalm 34:5 CEV

« Keep your eyes on the LORD! You will shine like the sun and never blush with shame »

Read Psalms 121 NKJV

1 I will lift up my eyes to the hills— From whence comes my help?

My help comes from the Lord, Who made heaven and earth.

He will not allow your foot to be moved; He who keeps you will not slumber.

Behold, He who keeps Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep.

The Lord is your keeper; the Lord is your shade at your right hand.

The sun shall not strike you by day, nor the moon by night.

The Lord shall preserve you from all evil; He shall preserve your soul.

The Lord shall preserve your going out and your coming in from this time forth, and even forevermore.

Understand

Imagine how a wealthy man who is willing to do anything for his wife would feel if she were to go to one of the tenant- a bachelor well-known for his philandering ways, to beg for bread.

This analogy, as apt as it may seem, does not even come close to describing how horrible it is when Christians seek help from sources other than God.

When humans look away from God and begin to consider lesser beings, including the devil, for help, that is idolatry.

Sadly, what many people do not know is that lasting help can only come from God and not from such beings (Zechariah 10:1-2).

Our only true source of help is the Almighty God, with whom there is no impossibility (Luke 1:37).

No wonder the Psalm 121:1-2 GNT

« 1 I look to the mountains; where will my help come from? 2 My help will come from the Lord, who made heaven and earth »

In 2 Kings 6:27, a woman had sought help from the king during a siege against Samaria. Thank God the king was wise enough to know he could do nothing of himself.

His sincere statement shows the true vanity in seeking help from any source other than God. God, on the other hand, promised His children in Isaiah 41:9-10 GNT

« 9……. ‘You are my servant.’ I did not reject you, but chose you. 10 Do not be afraid—I am with you! I am your God—let nothing terrify you! I will make you strong and help you; I will protect you and save you »

Beloved, examine yourself: from whom are you seeking help?

You are making a great mistake if it is not the Almighty God.

I am encouraging you to have complete faith in God for that help you urgently need; He will not fail you.

Our memory verse today gives us this assurance.

You too will testify today, in the mighty name of Jesus.

All you need is to be sure you have a Father-child relationship with the Almighty God and leave the rest to Him.

The Lord is your only true source of help.

Cry to Him today.

If you are yet to be born again, repent of your sins and confess them to the Lord.

Surrender your life to Jesus Christ and then cry to Him for whatever help you need.

He will surely help you.

Prayer focus –  Father, please send Your help to me today, in the mighty name of Jesus.
