Memorize: 1 John 3:1 New Living Translations (NLT)

« See how very much our Father loves us, for he calls us his children, and that is what we are! But the people who belong to this world don’t recognize that we are God’s children because they don’t know him. »

Read: Romans 8:16-26 New Living Translations (NLT)

16 For his Spirit joins with our spirit to affirm that we are God’s children.

17 And since we are his children, we are his heirs. In fact, together with Christ we are heirs of God’s glory. But if we are to share his glory, we must also share his suffering.

18 Yet what we suffer now is nothing compared to the glory he will reveal to us later.

19 For all creation is waiting eagerly for that future day when God will reveal who his children really are.

20 Against its will, all creation was subjected to God’s curse. But with eager hope,

21 the creation looks forward to the day when it will join God’s children in glorious freedom from death and decay.

22 For we know that all creation has been groaning as in the pains of childbirth right up to the present time.

23 And we believers also groan, even though we have the Holy Spirit within us as a foretaste of future glory, for we long for our bodies to be released from sin and suffering. We, too, wait with eager hope for the day when God will give us our full rights as his adopted children; including the new bodies he has promised us.

24 We were given this hope when we were saved. (If we already have something, we don’t need to hope for it.

25 But if we look forward to something we don’t yet have, we must wait patiently and confidently.)

26 And the Holy Spirit helps us in our weakness. For example, we don’t know what God wants us to pray for. But the Holy Spirit prays for us with groanings that cannot be expressed in words.

Message:
Galatians 4:7 CEV says

« you are no longer a servant but a child. And since you are His child, God will give you all that He has for his children through Christ »

and Romans 8:15 GNT says

« For the Spirit that God has given you does not make you slaves and cause you to be afraid; instead, the Spirit makes you God’s children, and by the Spirit’s power we cry out to God, “Father! my Father!” »

These Bible verses confirm that Christians are children of God who have received the birthright of sonship by grace, not merit.

I pray that the grace of Abba Father will always work in your favor in the mighty name of Jesus.

The first privilege we enjoy as children of God is that we move from the position of servants to that of children and heirs. Thus we must have a passion for evangelism especially for those who believe they are self-made slaves of sin after the fall of Adam.

God did not create his image-carrier man, for the purpose of making a slave out of him. Galatians 4:6-7 GNT says:

« “6 To show that you are[ his children, God sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, the Spirit who cries out, “Father, my Father.” 7 So then, you are no longer a slave but a child. And since you are his child, God will give you all that he has for his children.»

In the story of the Syrophoenician woman in Matthew 15:21-28 , Jesus Christ likened her to a dog and she did not refute it. This is because the verdict was from the Way, the Truth and the Life; He speaks with valid spiritual authority.

Liberal theologians who want to be 21st Century compliant would want to re-write the Bible to make it politically correct.

Some things, while politically correct, can be spiritually bankrupt.

Beloved, to become a part of the family of God, you need to be born again by your faith in Jesus Christ (Galatians 3:26).

Let Him cleanse you in His blood. The food of salvation, deliverance, healing and prosperity meant for children of God will now become yours in the name of Jesus. If you are born again already, spread the good news!

Prayer point: Father, let the blessings of the Christian birthright be permanent in my life, in the mighty name of Jesus.
