Read: Acts 2:41-47 NLT
41 Those who believed what Peter said were baptized and added to the church that day—about 3,000 in all.
42 All the believers devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching, and to fellowship, and to sharing in meals (including the Lord’s Supper), and to prayer.
43 A deep sense of awe came over them all, and the apostles performed many miraculous signs and wonders.
44 And all the believers met together in one place and shared everything they had.
45 They sold their property and possessions and shared the money with those in need.
46 They worshiped together at the Temple each day, met in homes for the Lord’s Supper, and shared their meals with great joy and generosity—
47 all the while praising God and enjoying the goodwill of all the people. And each day the Lord added to their fellowship those who were being saved.
Knowing God is not the same as going to church or even being born again.
The knowledge of God is first made evident through love.
If you love God, it will show in the way you live and even interact with others.
God is calling us into an intimate relationship with Him.
If your life is in disagreement with God’s word, no matter how much you participate in Church activities or give offering to God, you would not be acceptable to Him, and your services would be in vain.
« The attitude you should have is the one that Christ Jesus had: …He did not try to remain equal with God. Instead of his own free will He took the nature of a servant…He was humble and walked the path of obedience all the way to death »
Philippians 2:5-8
1 John 2:6 GNT also says
« If we say that we remain in union with God, we should live just as Jesus Christ did. »
Jesus Himself enjoins us to follow His example in all things.
An intimate relationship with Jesus would lead to selflessness, humility, service to humanity, and total obedience of God.
When you live according to the standard of God, He will be pleased with all you have to offer.
Do you know that you can come before God with generous offerings, yet stir up His anger?
This is because the offering of an unrepented sinner is an abomination before God (Proverbs 15:8).
An intimate relationship with God would help you fashion your life very closely after the example of our Lord Jesus in all things.
The knowledge of God must bring us to the point of wisdom and enlightenment far beyond the ordinary.
Above all, the knowledge of Jesus must lead to overflowing joy and peace.
I pray that your knowledge of Jesus will grow greatly this season in the mighty name of Jesus.
Prayer point: Father, please help me to grow in intimacy with You, in the mighty name of Jesus.
