Meditate on John 9:25CW
« The man replied, “I don’t know if he is a sinner [separated from God]; or not. All I know is that I used to be blind, but now I can see!” »
Read John 9:1-11NKJV
1 Now as Jesus passed by, He saw a man who was blind from birth.
2 And His disciples asked Him, saying, “Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?”
3 Jesus answered, “Neither this man nor his parents sinned, but that the works of God should be revealed in him.
4 I must work the works of Him who sent Me while it is day; the night is coming when no one can work.
5 As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.”
6 When He had said these things, He spat on the ground and made clay with the saliva; and He anointed the eyes of the blind man with the clay.
7 And He said to him, “Go, wash in the pool of Siloam” (which is translated, Sent). So he went and washed, and came back seeing.
8 Therefore the neighbors and those who previously had seen that he was blind said, “Is not this he who sat and begged?”
9 Some said, “This is he.” Others said, “He is like him.” He said, “I am he.”
10 Therefore they said to him, “How were your eyes opened?”
11 He answered and said, “A Man called Jesus made clay and anointed my eyes and said to me, ‘Go to the pool of Siloam and wash.’ So I went and washed, and I received sight.”
Yesterday we discussed how the resurrection of Jesus Christ confirmed His Lordship.
This, in essence, establishes that only the One with the power over death can be Lord indeed.
Today we shall look at another aspect of Jesus Christ’s Lordship – His dominion over all calamities and sicknesses, as seen in Isaiah 61:1. Luke 4:18NLT also corroborates this
« The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, for He has anointed me to bring Good News to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim that captives will be released, that the blind will see, that the oppressed will be set free »
When Jesus was confronted face to face with the madman of Gadara, for example,
He demonstrated this virtue as the Great Deliverer and Miracle Worker when He cast out the demons that had held the madman captive for years Luke 8:26-39.
Jesus came to preach the gospel to the poor for all-around salvation,
and rebuked with authority all who tried to oppose Him.
For example, He preached, Matthew 23:15Amplified
« “Woe to you, [self-righteous] scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites, because you travel over sea and land to make a single proselyte (convert to Judaism), and when he becomes a convert, you make him twice as much a son of hell as you are »
To this and many of His teachings, it was said in Matthew 7:28-29NKJV
« And so it was, when Jesus had ended these sayings, that the people were astonished at His teaching, for He taught them as one having authority, and not as the scribes »
Our Lord Jesus Christ was asked to prove His Lordship in John 10:24-25.
All He did was to simply refer His ‘interviewers’ to the work that His Father had been doing through Him. He said:
«…the works that I do in my Father’s name, they bear witness of me »
- As children of God, we must be able to represent Jesus Christ adequately.
All you need is to give your life to Jesus and live by His commandments.
I prophesy to you today: you will graduate from being a miracle consumer to a miracle worker, in Jesus’ name.
Prayer focus – Father, please empower me to represent You to the whole world.
