Meditate on: Hebrews 10:35 NLT
« So do not throw away this confident trust in the Lord. Remember the great reward it brings you! »
Read: Hebrews 10:35-39 GNT
35 Do not lose your courage, then, because it brings with it a great reward.
36 You need to be patient, in order to do the will of God and receive what He promises.
37 For, as the scripture says, “Just a little while longer, and He who is coming will come; He will not delay.
38 My righteous people, however, will believe and live; but if any of them turns back, I will not be pleased with them.”
39 We are not people who turn back and are lost. Instead, we have faith and are saved.
Understand:
Losing trust in Christ’s ability to do anything and everything has several terrible spiritual implications.
For example, if anyone loses confidence in the sufficiency of Christ regarding the atonement for sins, such a person could turn to idols for supplementary atonement.
A displeased Paul wrote to the church in Galatia in Galatians 2:21 GWT.
« I don’t reject God’s kindness. If we receive God’s approval by obeying laws, then Christ’s death was pointless. »
They had apparently lost confidence in the grace that earned them salvation and had begun to resort to self-righteousness through religious activities.
Today, like the Galatians Church who considered keeping of the Jewish traditional laws, some people do not think the gospel is enough for them. So, they give in to demonic alternatives. Galatians 3:1- 3 NLT
« Oh, foolish Galatians! Who has cast an evil spell on you? For the meaning of Jesus Christ’s death was made as clear to you as if you had seen a picture of his death on the cross….. After starting your new lives in the Spirit, why are you now trying to become perfect by your own human effort »
Do not lose confidence in God due to impatience. The just shall live by faith. Romans 1:17 NKJV
Some people doubt Malachi 3:10-12 and then blaspheme because things are not going as planned despite their faithfulness in the payment of tithes and offerings. Some others now query monogamy as a Christian doctrine.
Jesus Christ is however the same yesterday, today and forever (Hebrews 13:8 NKJV).
We cannot modify God’s laws to suit ourselves.
Brothers and sisters, nothing should make us fret, not severe persecutions, not trials of faith. God wants you to trust Him completely; there is no problem He cannot resolve.
Never seek solutions to your problems from the devil or his agents. Psalms 16:4 NIV says:
« Those who run after other gods will suffer more and more. »
Make God your refuge and strength.
He is a very present help and will never forsake you (Psalms 46:11, Romans 8:35).
Prayer point: Father, please help me to hold on to You and my let confidence in Christ increase, rather than diminish in the mighty name of Jesus.
