« Then Moses stood in the entrance of the camp, and said, “Whoever is on the LORD’s side—come to me!” And all the sons of Levi gathered themselves together to him. »
25 Moses saw that Aaron had let the people get out of control and make fools of themselves in front of their enemies.
26 So he stood at the gate of the camp and shouted, “Everyone who is on the Lord’s side come over here!” So all the Levites gathered around him.
In John 21:1-6, we read about the disciples’ encounter with the resurrected Jesus at the Sea Tiberias where they had gone fishing. In spite of all their hard work they caught nothing.
Jesus came to them, but they initially did not recognize Him.
He then teased them, asking “Children, have you any food?”
The answer was obviously negative.
When you are not where you should be, you are on the wrong side and this can bring untold hardship and sorrow.
Jesus had compassion upon the apostle and gave them a directive to cast their net to the right side of the boat for a catch.
They obeyed and hauled in a mighty catch.
Every child of God must always strive to be on the right side of the Lord- doing His will, obeying His word and walking according to his ways.
« 10 Lot took a long look at the fertile plains of the Jordan Valley in the direction of Zoar. The whole area was well watered everywhere, like the garden of the Lord or the beautiful land of Egypt. (This was before the Lord destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah.) 11 Lot chose for himself the whole Jordan Valley to the east of them. He went there with his flocks and servants and parted company with his uncle Abram »
Lot greedily chose the land that seemed good for his flocks without consideration for his elderly uncle who brought him out to choose first.
Unfortunately, it was the wrong side; it was a place marked for destruction.
The land was totally destroyed, and Lot lost everything except two of his daughters.
He even lost his wife to the destruction. Genesis 19:24-26 NKJV
« 24 Then the Lord rained brimstone and fire on Sodom and Gomorrah, from the Lord out of the heavens. 25 So He overthrew those cities, all the plain, all the inhabitants of the cities, and what grew on the ground. 26 But his wife looked back behind him, and she became a pillar of salt. »
Beloved, please come to the Lord’s side today if you are yet to answer His call.
Repent and accept Him as your Lord and Savior.
He will prosper and give you all-round rest as He has promised, in the mighty name of Jesus,
Prayer focus: Father, please take me away from the wrong side of life and bring me to the right side, in Jesus’ name.
